- A little bit about me ...
Hi everyone! My name is Melissa Grim and I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Spring Grove High School. I now have the honor and privilege of teaching in this fantastic district!
Education:
After graduating from high school, I attended Penn State University and majored in mathematics. After one year, I decided that the campus was a little too large for me personally so I then transferred to Lock Haven University where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics. I continued on to get my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College. I currently have 33 credits beyond my Master's degree.
Experience:
I taught eighth grade Pre-algebra and Algebra 1 for eight years at the Spring Grove Middle School immediately following college. After my second son was born, I resigned my position and became a stay-at-home mom. During that time, I tutored privately and also taught several SAT prep courses. In 2007, I returned to teaching at Spring Grove High School and have taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry Honors, Calculus, AP Calculus, and Gifted Seminar.
Family:
My world outside of school is centered around my two sons, Trevor and Trace, and my husband Ben. I love to spend time with my them and my dog Woody. During the summer months, our family loves to travel. We have made four RV cross country trips in the past six years and have accumulated many stories! I've been to all 48 contiguous US states and have put Alaska and Hawaii on my "bucket list"! I have come to believe that making memories with my family is one of the best things in life!
