Windy Hill on the Campus: Windy Hill is looking for a part time(20 hours a week) Marketing intern for this summer. Responsibilities would include promoting all programs and services, creating promotional materials including social media posts, flyers, newsletters, and electronic ads. Qualifications would include simple graphic design and familiarity with various social media platforms and Constant Contact. YWCA Summit: Join the YWCA of Hanover for “Summit for a Better Tomorrow” June 19-21, 2023 from 9am -1pm. Join them for hands-on activities and collaboration in making a difference in the community and world. Day one and two will be held in Hanover, PA. Day three will be a bus trip and tour of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. A fee of $25 covers all three days, bus transportation to and from the museum, snacks, materials and a summit tee shirt. Register and pay online at www.ywcahanover.org no later than May 19th (Today!). This is open to incoming 9th thru outgoing 12th grade students.
Robotics Workshop at York College: York College of Pennsylvania's Summer Robotics Workshop is on July 14 and 15, 2023. The workshop is designed for both boys and girls entering grades 9, 10, and 11. The workshop will provide students the opportunity to learn about robotics, drones, and explore sustainable engineering with renewable energy. There are limited seats to 24 participants. Materials, instruction and lunch are included in the program fee of $50. The deadline for students to complete the online registration is May 19th, 2023 (Today!). Hanover Auto Team: Sophomores sign up for next year: This program is required if you would like to learn more about their pre-apprenticeship program that you can participate in during your senior year of high school. Dates for Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 sessions are: 9/19/23, 11/13/23, 2/8/24, and 4/12/24. Click HERE to register.
Miss Hanover Area Pageant - Attention all Junior girls! The Hanover Area Jaycees are currently looking for contestants for the 2023 Miss Hanover Area Pageant on October 23, 2023. To participate you must be a high school senior during the 2023-2024 school year. Several scholarships and cash awards will be awarded based on interview, talent, and evening gown competitions. Stop into the Career Center to pick up your application. Applications must be postmarked by May 31, 2023.
YCAL Pre-Apprenticeship - Applications for next school year (2023-2024) for the YCAL pre-apprenticeship programs are now OPEN. Three programs are offered. Building Trades through the York Builders Association, Electrical through York Electricians, and Manufacturing through the Manufacturers’ Association. Students must have their own transportation and be in 11th or 12th grade next school year. Make sure to complete the application as soon as possible as programs fill up quickly. United States Military Academy West Point - Now accepting applications! West Point is offering a Student Summer Leaders Experience which is a one-week summer camp at West Point. Students will get to live in the barracks, eat in the mess hall, experience academic workshops for 5 of our 17 academic departments and complete two military days. There will be two sessions, June 3-9th and June 10-16th. Students may sign up by visiting www.westpoint.edu.
